One of the most prevalent substances known to man, water has evolved over time into a valuable resource. Practically all aspects of human activity require water. And there is a great need for water. It basically corresponds to population size!


But the Philippines is fortunate to have several rivers, lakes, and streams. So, the scarcity of water has never actually been an issue. Where there appears to be a shortage, the problem can be linked to the uneven rainfall distribution required to replenish water in rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water.


Ironically, there are situations when having too much water might be problematic. The Philippines has a pretty distinct rainy season because of the monsoons. There are several weather processes that cause precipitation, including: Flood


How can we prevent flooding in the Philippines?


Construct a building that is one meter or more from the ground to prevent flood damage. Restore rivers and clean drainage to prevents floods. The mere fact that the rivers will restore to its original state and drainages are clean, the flow of water can be control and damages may be prevented.


What Causes Floods?


The Philippines is highly exposed to flooding, the consequence of severe cyclones and heavy rainfall. The risks from flooding are exacerbated by land-use change such as urbanization and logging.
